Welcome to Monday Mood Board! I’m in the process of designing my family room and always seem to find one piece that I fall in love with to design a room around. In this case, I was instantly drawn to this beautiful velvet sofa. With its long bench seat, dark color, and luxurious textured fabric, it was the perfect choice for my family room. Next, I knew I needed to find another large element of the room to really bring it all together. I found the perfect piece in this Loloi rug – neutral with just enough personality. I’ve yet to find a Loloi rug I didn’t love! With the sofa and rug in place, I can start playing with other elements in the room, mixing and matching until it feels just right. I’m pretty happy with this direction and can’t wait to share the finished design with you!

The total cost of this designer-inspired family room adds up to a little over $16,000. Though it may not be a budget-friendly option, I do think the family room can be a great space to splurge on high-end pieces that will stand the test of time. I would always prefer to invest in my main pieces such as the sofa or accent chairs. You can easily find accessory pieces, art, and decor at very affordable price points.

My goal is always to offer multiple price points and help you achieve a “look for less” when creating spaces you love. I dove in and put together a very similar look and feel for 1/3 of the cost. The family room below adds up to somewhere close to $6,000 – furniture and accessories included!
